The HOLIDAY LINE Film
Film by Kenny Munro and Ed O'Donnelly
Specially commissioned by ENF10
The East Neuk landscape was once criss-crossed with railway lines serving many stations. Many thousands of visitors annually travelled 'The Holiday Line' to enjoy the sea, sand and sunshine of the East Neuk. Now we have Station Road's with no stations, though the outline of some of the old track foundations are still visible from the air (or on Google Earth!) and many of today's visitors to the region will walk down part of the coastal path which follows one of the old railways lines. This film traces an enigmatic journey between past and present, inter-cutting little-seen archive film with contemporary images of Fife melded to music & ambient sound.

Share Your East Neuk Memories -
become part of our Holiday Line exhibition
Did you travel on the Holiday Line for any of your East Neuk holidays? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you. For the duration of the ENF10 we want to deck the walls of the Crail Community Hall with images and memories of East Neuk visits from times past. We're looking for images that tell a story, or stories that conjure up an image, especially if they feature a well-known site or location which we can match up with modern day photos to pick up on the theme of 'The Holiday Line'.
Details of how to participate in this project will be posted here soon.
Exhibition: FREE ENTRY, not ticketed
The building will be open between 11am - 4.30pm Fri - Sun inclusive
