East Neuk Festival 2009 begins today with serenades by Beethoven and Mozart. The Festival is now 5 years old - but it has grown fast over that time, making a name for itself nationally and attracting people from all over the UK and beyond to enjoy the music, readings, venues and locations that make this such a unique event. I'm delighted to say that the East Neuk team continues to discover more beautiful, atmospheric, exciting or just plain quirky places in which to hear music and poetry in the East Neuk. For the first time we will feature the historic churches of Kilrenny and Largo, and a number of ancient sites including Dunino Den and St Fillan's cave. I hope you will enjoy browsing this year's programme and find plenty in it to tempt you to join us over the coming week.
