Diyang Mei

Diyang Mei was born on 22 November 1994. He studied violin from the age of 5. From 2005 to 2014, he majored in viola at the middle school affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music with Prof Shaowu Wang. During his time at the middle school, he received many scholarships and won many international awards. He performed with many symphony orchestras and received guidance from music masters including: Hariolf Schlichtig, Matthias Bucholz, Pinchas Zukermann, Nobuko Imai, Roberto Diaz, and Günther Pichler. In October 2012, Diyang Mei was selected to be an association member of the Chinese Musicians Association. In December 2012, he won the award of the Central Conservatory of Music BOB training plan. In October 2014, he entered Hochschule für Musik und Theater Muenchen, majoring in viola (class of Prof Hariolf Schlichtig).

2008 – 10th International Viola-Cello Competition, ‘VILLA DE LLANES’, Spain: First Prize and the Special Award
