Ester Forsberg

Swedish violist Ester was born into a family of musicians. The different genres of music in her home created a curiosity for a wide range of styles; as well as from classical music she’s familiar with Swedish folk music, and for several years was performing regularly as guest musician at the Uppsala Stadsteater.

Ester began her Bachelor studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with violist Steven Svensson, and finished at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with professors Lars Anders Tomter and Tim Frederiksen. Ester is currently finishing her Master’s Degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with professor Lars Anders Tomter and guest professor Isabelle van Keulen.

Ester formed her first quartet as a teenager, and since then has been a dedicated chamber musician. She has performed all over the Nordic countries and in prestigious festivals such as the Bergen International Festival and Musica Nova in Helsinki. She is currently part of the FAE quartet, a Norwegian group, which is a part of the Oslo Quartet Series Young Talent programme.
