British cellist Maxim Calver was a Finalist of BBC Young Musician 2018, where he made his concerto debut in Symphony Hall, Birmingham with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Mark Wigglesworth.
His performances this season include a Brahms Double Concerto in Cadogan Hall with Menuhin Competition finalist Tianyou Ma and numerous recitals across the UK and Guernsey. Maxim currently studies at the Royal College of Music, London with Professor Melissa Phelps, where he is a Hargreaves and Ball Trust Scholar supported by a Herbert Howells & Thomas Fielden Scholarship. Previous to his studies in London, he studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School with Thomas Carroll.
