Euan Stevenson

Euan Stevenson is an award-winning Scottish pianist and composer working in jazz, classical and pop fields. He has performed in concerts and masterclasses throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. His music has been broadcast on BBC Radio and iPlayer, Jazz FM, and Film/TV work includes the feature film Voyageuse (2018) and the BBC Horizon documentary The Right Diet For You.

A former student at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, he studied with acclaimed jazz pianist Liam Noble before completing his degree at the University of Birmingham specialising in composition. He has since gone on to divide his career between writing and performing in various styles, working with some of the top instrumentalists/vocalists on the UK jazz and classical scenes including Enrico Tomasso, Jim Mullen, Dave Newton, Zoe Francis, Matt Ford, Anita Wardell and Katherine Bryan.

He continues to perform with award-winning saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski – their genre defying project, NEW FOCUS, is sufficiently accessible to attract new audiences beyond jazz. Equally rewarding is his collaboration with jazz/pop vocalist Georgia Cécile (tipped as “One To Watch in 2019” by Jazzwise Magazine and BBC Introducing) with whom Stevenson co-writes and arranges.

Following the spring premieres of two of Stevenson’s large scale choral works in the UK and the US respectively (a Missa Brevis and a Choral Suite), Stevenson plans to release recordings of his second solo piano album and a freely improvised trio album in early 2020.
