Thibault Cauvin

It has been said that Thibault Cauvin was born with a guitar in his hands, given to him by his father, himself a musician. He first studied at the Bordeaux Conservatoire then later at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur, graduating with honours. Widely acclaimed for his youth, passion and creativity, by the age of 20, had won 36 prizes at many international competitions (13 first prizes) – more than any guitar player before him. His inspired, expressive and natural playing appeals to all types of audiences across generations.

Thibault has been touring extensively for 15 years, playing in many prestigious halls including New York’s Carnegie Hall, Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Hall, the Beijing Forbidden City, and London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. As he loves very special musical moments, Thibault chose to play in symbolic, atypical and magic places during his 2017 “Magic Tour”: he began at the Eiffel Tower in January and he took in The Hague Peace Palace, the Quito ruins in Ecuador, the Marrakech palm grove, and a tower top in Shanghai.

In October 2017, Sony Music released Thibault’s 9th CD, the acclaimed “The Vivaldi Album”, which was recorded at the Paris Philharmonie with the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, conducted by J Masmondet.

In 2013, Thibault Cauvin was designated a Bordeaux Ambassador. He also sponsors the Paris Guitar Foundation. A passionate surfer, he is sponsored by Billabong.
